Seton's Description:
Handwriting 5 for Young Catholics from Seton Press' best-selling series, this text-workbook aims at proficiency in cursive writing. Your child will continue daily practice and learn to write faster and smaller while improving neatness and legibility. With practice material on the US states and their capitals, Handwriting 5 for Young Catholics is an excellent supplement to America's Catholic Heritage, the 5th grade American History book used in the Seton Home Study School curriculum program. Through these handwriting lessons, your child will learn the basic facts for each state, as well as interesting information about Catholic cathedrals, shrines, and other points of Catholic historical interest. The text includes introductory pages containing Zaner-Bloser method stroke descriptions for lowercase manuscript, uppercase manuscript, lowercase cursive, uppercase cursive, as well as for cursive and manuscript numerals. Full color illustrations. 2014 copyright. 8.5 x 11 inches. Soft cover. 245 pp.

Many features and full-color illustrations, April 20, 2005
Reviewer: Irene O'Brien, Academic Counselor, Seton Home Study School

The handwriting level for this grade has the children writing upper and lower case letters without the “middle line”. It’s quite an advancement! The handwriting practices have the children writing out famous quotes from history as well as short stories of important historical and geographical places in America. Numbers are included in this level by way of having the children write out dates of the stories. An added bonus with these handwriting books are the beautiful full-color illustrations of American landmarks.
