I read these as an adult and thought they were beautiful and detailed stories of the saints. She clearly portrayed the holiness of each of these saints. I read Blessed Imelda to my then 8y/o and it helped make her 1st Communion even more meaningful. She then read Little Flower in 7th gr as an assignment and she now feels she can really knows St Therese. She is a great childrens author.
The first time I had ever heard of the author Mary Fabian Windeatt was when I purchased her two books about Blessed Imelda Lambertini and Saint Catherine Labore for my then 4th graders book reports in homeschool. Little did I know that I, along with my son, would fall in love with this collection of books! I knew by the end of that year that I had to buy her entire series sold by Seton for our next school year. And I did! It has been well worth the price. I can't tell you how many times my son has spurt out bits and pieces of historic knowledge to his younger brother just from reading these wonderful books in just one year!! I'm excited that he's excited to read one book in a day because the author makes her stories captivating and intriguing. And this set is for 4th grade to 8th grade reading level, but my 5th grader reads them all. Any vocabulary words he comes across that he needs help with, we look up in a dictionary and he goes back to reading. I'm so glad Seton recommended this series to us. :)
